Welcome to Ogden Surgical – Medical Society

The Ogden Surgical-Medical Society (OSMS) is a CME (continuing medical education) community created by and for medical professionals. We provide a platform for empowering health-care professionals through education and collaboration.

Our annual conference is designed to keep the health clinician current through diverse, expert-led discussions and presentations, hands-on performance skill labs, and professional dialogue with colleagues, which improve overall competence and performance and enable improved patient care.

Founded in 1946 in Ogden, Utah, we are the longest-serving CME organization west of the Mississippi. Conference participants come from across the country. We offer accreditation to MDs and DOs. Other societies for Podiatrists, Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants, and EMS Professionals may accept our accreditation as well.

Our meeting is one of the first of its kind to meet the standards established by national medical accrediting bodies, and has been attended by thousands of physicians over the years.

Our Mission Statement

Our mission is to give CME conference attendees specifically, and the local community in general, a professional and collegial experience focused on healthcare and community at the greatest possible value.

Front row: Kurt E. Rifleman, MD; Harry O. Senekjian, MD; Chad M. Gonzales, MD; and Marc Johnson, MD.
Second Row: Clark Madsen, MD, MS; Petronella Adomako, MD; Steve Scharmann, MD; Scott Moore, DO; Bryan Campbell, MD; Heather Heileson, MD; and Teresa Puskedra, MPC.

To help our community members lead change in their medical practices, we assemble a number of thought leaders comprised of recognized faculty and eminent medical scientists and practitioners who address current concerns and future trends through informed presentations. Past guest speakers represent more than 50 different medical colleges and universities, 29 states and eight countries.

Our members’ time is valuable. Because of that, we ensure that our conference time is well spent. Members have opportunities for formal and informal collaboration through participation in working labs and meals during the day and with social dinners and activities in the evening.

While you are here, we invite you to take advantage of all that Ogden has to offer including diverse shopping and dining venues, as well as outdoor recreation in and around the beautiful Wasatch Mountain Range. We also invite you to join us for the annual Ogden Marathon – a tradition held in concert with our annual conference!
